# App enhancements

Tighten quality with validation rules, refine project processing settings, and handle related documents as a single case.

## Configuring validations

Validation rules and confidence thresholds flag low-quality or failing extractions for human review. At the field level, set confidence thresholds and custom rules. Document-level rules can enforce cross-field or packet requirements so bad data doesn't move downstream unnoticed.

## Configuring project settings

In project settings, you can enable advanced file processing options to fine-tune performance. Changing these settings can help optimize extraction accuracy and speed. From disabling OCR for faster runs, to handling 200+ page documents, wide tables, and spreadsheets, learn when and why to use each setting.

## Case management features

Some workflows need related documents processed together as a single unit, not document by document. Packet-processing apps group related files into a *case*, so you can extract, validate, and review data across the whole packet.

This video explains how to tackle case management use cases in the app editor:

* Extract and validate fields on individual classes (for example, prescriptions, authorizations, and notes).

* Group related files into packets for workflows, organize packets, and move documents between them.

* Review cross-document (case-level) fields and validations that depend on the full packet, then correct issues before completing the case.
