# Creating projects and apps

> Walk through the entire process of creating an app, from project to deployment.

See how applications are built in the app editor. Start from a project, define document classes and extraction fields, add validations, and then publish and package your app for deployment.

## Configuring a solution

Every standard app is backed by a project where you configure the core behavior. This video walks through the full setup path:

1. **Creating a project** -- Start the project that will become your app.

2. **Uploading sample files** -- Add documents that represent what the app will see in production.

3. **Configuring document classification** -- Define classes in natural language so the app can identify and separate document types.

4. **Configuring extraction** -- For each class, define the fields, values, or insights to extract (such as names, dates, addresses, or tables).

5. **Defining validation rules** -- Optionally apply confidence thresholds or custom logic so extracted data meets your quality standards.

6. **Creating the app** -- Package the project into an app that can process documents.

7. **Configuring a deployment** -- Automate the workflow with options such as human review and integrations.

> **Tip**
>
> Find in-depth information on working with apps in the [*App editor and standard apps*](/academy/learning-paths/developer/app-editor) course. While that course targets the Developer persona, a developer background isn't required to create your own apps!
